Random February

Teaching Bible Study with the Girls!  -  Love that we are studying Colossians!  What a great reminder that we are COMPLETE IN CHRIST.  There's nothing more to be done.  There's nothing more I need to do to get God's attention.  There's nothing more that I CAN DO.  We talk about how our different backgrounds sometimes lay guilt on us to PERFORM.  Do this, do that, don't do this, attend this, participate in that - all things that we tend to MEASURE ourselves by thinking to gain God's favor.  Even as a Christ-follower, we sometimes get caught up with thinking we need to DO in order to make God smile.   Well I am COMPLETE IN CHRIST and while I was a sinner, Christ died for me.

J and Employment! - Still on the search to fulfill the passion that God has laid in both of our hearts and that's to help the needy in some way.   Heard a great verse today that resonated with my heart "Isaiah 58:10 - and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.  The Lord will guide you always."

Thoughts that have taken up residence in my heart.  When you are in a place of position, there's a veil that covers who your true friends are.  When the place of position is gone, the veil is lifted and then you discover who they are.  Thank you God for the people in our life who care in a time of need, who stretch out an arm for embracing for reassurance and mostly for dependency on You who has made us so RICH in HIS FULNESS that these so called circumstantial setbacks can be viewed as opportunity to GROW in YOUR GRACE.

The word Perseverance penetrates my soul this month.  Love this word and I'm seeing that the circumstances of life lend an opportunity to completely understand this word.

Lastly and most importantly - 02122012  I love all these 0,1,2s.  This date holds significance because Tay came home from church (She attends church with her friends.) And told us that on this day, she choose to become a christ-follower.  I know some won't understand this decision because Tay has always been involved in church, she made a decision as a child and was baptized and also is signed up for a missions trip to India this summer.  So what does this mean?  Simply said, it's an answer to our prayers that our children would learn to own their faith, make it theirs, choose Christ because they get it and want to.  For Tay to make this bold proclamation is major for her because she is an independent young woman who doesn't like to "follow" but would rather "lead."  So lead on, my Tay,  to new heights that God has for you.  We want you to experience the fulness of Christ and we can see how He is working in your life!
